Friends of the School

‘The Friends of St Oswald’s’ is a group of people who support the school and help raise money for additional resources to enrich the children’s education.  Projects over recent years include the refurbishment of the library and ICT suite, development of playground equipment and seating areas, playground markings, laying Astroturf in the nursery garden and providing a shed and gardening equipment for the newly established gardening club.  The Friends also support cultural activities for the children and recently funded a school visit from ‘The Golden Key’, a theatre company who performed and worked with the children.  All of these things enhance the school environment greatly.

All parents and carers are members of the Friends and are very welcome to attend meetings and join in the various activities.

The group aims to do various fundraising events through the year such as the Christmas and Summer fairs, and seeks to organise a number of social events such as the school disco and juice in the park, where children and parents can relax and get to know one another.

The Friends promote a lively, active and fun atmosphere and would welcome any new faces to join them.  If you are new to the area or to the school it is a great way to meet people and make friends.  Even if you are busy and only have an hour to spare, this time will be much appreciated.

Events and dates of meetings are displayed on the notice boards in the Nursery Garden and in the main entrance on School Lane .
